Hello from Mike and Becca! We have been married going on 28 years.  Mike has always loved reading.  There isn't a book or cereal box that has crossed his path that he hasn't read!  He is asked to read scripture at our church most weeks (and is told by countless people each week how much they loved listening to him read).  Becca went from being afraid of "breaking" the computer in 1997, to having a photography business, at one point had a podcast with the oldest daughter, and all around being "tech support" for friends and family.  

Our two daughters are grown and married now.  Which left us needing to find our “new normal” as empty nesters. So, Better Half Studio was born!  Mike likes to joke that he's the voice, but she's the talent.  

We started this journey Summer 2023 when we began slowly converting the closet in our kid's old bedroom into a sound proof recording booth.  While we both were working full time, we were unable to make much headway.  But in September 2024, Becca was done with corporate America and chose to dedicate her time to Better Half Studio!  Mike records at night when he's home from his day job.  Becca edits and submits his recordings during the day, and finds new projects, manages our social media, website, and communications with rights holders and authors.  And at the encouragement of Mike and their kids, Becca is starting to try her hand at narrating too!

Becca has put her family/portrait photography on the back burner over the last handful of years. But nothing has stood in the way of her passion for chasing the Aurora Borealis and enjoying photographing the beauty of nature. Recently, the love of capturing fun family photos has been sparked once again!
